In 1939, the New York Central inaugurated all Pullman train service between St. Louis and the east coast (Boston and New York) as "The Southwestern Limited". This train followed the route of MSTS "Conrail Indy".

Belanger Locomotive Works and ZosaTrains are proud to introduce the New York Central Southwestern Limited as it ran from 1939 until the Penn Central merger in 1967. This set includes 9 pieces of motive power and 32 passenger cars with interior detail!!

For motive power, we have chosen to model both the Alco PA-1 A-B-A sets and the EMD E8A-E7B-E8A sets that hauled this famed streamliner. We have also included actual Pullman cars from the Pullman Company and Budd Company that were assigned to the Southwestern Limited over the years. Many of these cars also saw service on other New York Central trains including the Ohio State Limited, the Commodore Vanderbilt, the Detroiter and the Wolverine, as well as pool service on other railroads.
